St. Goar Shooting Festival 2026
On Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026, the St. Goar Shooting Club invites you to its traditional shooting festival. The festivities will take place at Rheinfels Castle in St. Goar and at the festival grounds by the boathouse, right on the Rhine near the ferry.
On the third weekend in July, visitors from the region and beyond can look forward to a varied festival program featuring living traditions, music, and a friendly get-together.
Program Overview:
Saturday, July 18, 2026
At 1 p.m., the wooden eagle will be hung at the shooting range. From 2 p.m. onwards, men and women will compete together in the eagle shooting competition to determine the new shooting king. From 5 p.m. onwards, the day will conclude with a relaxed evening of music at the boathouse.
Sunday, July 19, 2026
The festival Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with a church service at the Protestant church, followed by a memorial service. At the same time, refreshments will be served at the boathouse. Starting at 11 a.m., the morning beer gathering with the St. Goar Music Association and the proclamation ceremony will create a festive atmosphere. At 2 p.m., the grand parade, featuring guest clubs, will wind its way through St. Goar. Starting at 3 p.m., a convivial afternoon at the boathouse invites you to linger.
Set against the impressive backdrop of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Schützenfest combines traditional customs with the unique charm of the Rhine. Grilled specialties, refreshing drinks, and a warm, festive atmosphere ensure that everyone is well fed and in good spirits—with views of Rheinfels Castle and Katz Castle, not far from the Loreley.
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Parking is available near the Rhine. You can also travel by train to St. Goar Station.
The St. Goar Shooting Club is looking forward to welcoming many guests and enjoying a festive weekend.
