There are various ways to get to Rheinfels Castle. The castle can be reached on foot via a signposted footpath from the market square in St. Goar. The walk takes about 20 minutes. If you don’t want to walk and want to be a little more comfortable, you can also take the Burg Rheinfels shuttle. This runs every 30 minutes daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May to the end of October. Departure points are the market square in St. Goar and the parking lot of Rheinfels Castle. There are no trips between 12 and 14.30 on weekdays. Please note that the exact departure times of the Burg Rheinfels shuttle may be subject to change depending on daily capacity utilization. By car
If you want to travel to Rheinfels Castle by car, you will be directed to the destination by signs from St. Goar via the Bundestraße 9. Coming from the A61, take the Pfalzfeld exit and then continue along the K 100 to the castle. There is a paid parking lot right next to the castle.

By bus
You can also reach Rheinfels Castle by bus. Please note that buses with a height of over 3.20 meters cannot use the approach via the B9! An alternative is to drive through the Gründelbach side valley (clearance height 4.10 m, L 206) via Utzenhain (K 101). The route then continues via Biebernheim (K 100) directly to Rheinfels Castle. The approach via the highway is the same as by car.
