Bernhard Schreurs was born in 1956 on the Middle Rhine and grew up in St. Goarshausen. After graduating from high school, he studied clarinet and singing at the Heidelberg-Mannheim University of Music. Years of freelance work were followed by a permanent engagement as a singer at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. At the same time, he was constantly searching for other forms of artistic expression and spiritual paths in Zen mediation and Western contemplation. He attended courses in stone sculpture with Thomas Reuter and Meinrad Dufner in Münsterschwarzach and Mazolla near Volterra. In recent years, he has increasingly turned to painting.
