SUMMARY:Hunting exhibition at Rheinfels Castle Museum
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nSpecial exhibition at Rheinfels Castle Museum: “The Disciples of Hubertus” – The depiction of hunting in medieval book art \nIn collaboration with the Peregrini Arnstein Association\, Rheinfels Castle Museum is showing impressive facsimiles of medieval manuscripts. The focus is on the magnificently illustrated scenes from the famous “Le Livre de la Chasse” by Gaston Phoebus III (1331-1391)\, one of the most important hunting books of the time.  \nThe official opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday\, October 3 at 6 p.m. in the vaulted cellar. The introductory lecture will be given by Oliver Täufer M.A.\, who will present the life and work of Gaston Phoebus and his hunting book. Visitors can then view the exhibition daily during the museum's regular opening hours (10:00-17:30). From November\, the castle and museum will only be open from Fridays to Sundays.    \nFinally\, on Sunday\, November 16 at 4:00 p.m.\, Oliver Täufer once again invites you to an exciting lecture. This time he will focus on the “Hunting Book of King Modus”. Both events will be musically accompanied by hunting motifs.   \nA special highlight awaits guests on Friday\, October 17 at 6:00 p.m.: falconer Ilona Ciesielski M.A. will present the legendary falcon book of Emperor Frederick II and bring along a live hunting falcon to illustrate it. \nAdmission to the exhibition is included in the castle ticket. Participation in the evening lectures is free of charge.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nFencing workshop at Rheinfels Castle on 28.03.2026 \nRheinfels Castle offers the opportunity to take part in a two-hour fencing workshop on March 28\, 2026. The Krifon Fencing School\, Edingen-Neckarhausen\, offers workshops on two different topics. \nFrom 11:00 to 13:00 “Introduction to fencing with one-handed sword & buckler” and from 15:00 to 17:00 “Introduction to fencing with the long sword”. \nBoth workshops are offered free of charge. \nRegistration is urgently required at 06741-383 or urlaub@stadt-st-goar.de. \nThe maximum number of participants per workshop is 12. \nThe offer is aimed at young people and adults aged 12 and over. Both workshops take place in the large cellar of Rheinfels Castle\, regardless of the weather. \nParticipants should wear comfortable clothing. Protective equipment and training weapons are provided by the fencing school.
